National Courier – Pakistan Super League 2019 – Bigger and Better than Ever

The 4th edition of Pakistan Super League is almost upon us and people have started counting days. What is more exciting is that this edition features 8 matches across Karachi and Lahore. The prospect of AB De Villiers and the hard-hitting Carlos Braithwaite gracing the pitches of Gaddafi Stadium is alluring, to say the least. PSL 2019 is ready to take you on a roller coaster of emotions.

Players to Look Out for

There have been several noticeable additions to this year’s tournament – the most prominent being AB De Villiers, purchased by Lahore. They’ve also added to their roster Corey Anderson and high flying Windies all-rounder, Carlos Brathwaite.

Other teams have also made reinforcements. Karachi Kings would relish the opportunity to see Colin Munro hit a ball or two in the stands. Quetta Gladiators will sorely miss the experience and presence of K.P but they have retained Shane Watson and Rilee Rossouw, two of their top performers.

The headline for PSL 2019 has been the inclusion of A.B De Villiers and Steven Smith. However, the latter will not be able to participate due to injury. As a replacement, the Sultans brought in belligerent all rounder Andre Russell, who had previously featured for the United.

Islamabad United, the reigning champions have signed seasoned English batsman Ian Bell to add depth to the squad. South African ace Wayne Parnell would look to cause batsmen all sorts of problems as he makes his debut with the Islamabad United. Other signings include Camron Delport from the Qalandars and young all-rounder Phil Salt. The Qalandars certainly have enough firepower to set PSL 2019 alight.

Finally, we move on to Peshawar Zalmi. Led by the mercurial Darren Sammy, Zalmi look to add to their one title by signing T20 specialist Kieron Pollard and experienced English county cricketer Wayne madsen.

So, who are we betting on to win PSL 2019? Of course, the Kings! We are Karachiites and nothing short of the title would make us happy.
