Abu Dhabi: Yasir Shah breaks 82-year-old record
ABU DHABI: Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah has broken an 82-year-old record by becoming the fastest bowler in history to get to 200 Test wickets.
Yasir Shah dismissed three New Zealand batsmen to come within two wickets of becoming the fastest man to 200 wickets in Test cricket on day one of the third and final Test in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Information minister Fawad Chaudhry had tweeted a few days ago that the nation was waiting for Yasir Shah to break the 82-year-old record.
Legendary leg-spinner Abdul Qadir spoke to 92 News and said that Pakistanis around the world would be proud of Yasir.
“This is an excellent feat by Yasir Shah,” he said. “Pakistan is fortunate that it has a leg-spinner who can win it Test matches,” he added.
Qadir advised Yasir Shah to stay relaxed since that enables him to get wickets and win Pakistan Test matches against teams across the globe.
