ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday initiated the process to convert the PM House into Islamabad National University.
A ceremony was held to inaugurate the Islamabad National University which was attended by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The prime minister was addressing a seminar titled Emerging Challenges and Opportunities for Pakistan.
“Education is the top priority of the PTI government and we will do our utmost to ensure that our youth get the best possible facilities in this regard,” he said.
The prime minister said that by converting the PM House into a university, the government had put an end to the remnants of colonial mindset.
“No country can develop without quality education,” he said during his speech. “Countries like Singapore and China achieved major economic progress and development through education,” he added.
Prime Minister Imran Khan offered his full cooperation to the Higher Education Commission in promoting education and ensuring quality education is imparted to students across Pakistan.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing was also in attendance and spoke on the occasion.
