ISLAMABAD: If Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to build a welfare state on the model of Medina, then he should start by holding his sister Aleema Khan and other PTI leaders accountable, said PML-N’s Mohammad Zubair.
“PML-N leaders are being arrested on a daily basis,” said former federal minister Ahsan Iqbal, flanked by Rana Sanaullah, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Mohammad Zubair and Musadik Malik.
“Our party’s leaders and representatives are being arrested while investigations are going on and charges against them haven’t been proven,” said Iqbal.
Ahsan Iqbal said that while investigations against PTI representatives were also underway, none of them were being arrested.
Ahsan Iqbal wised the Christian community a happy Christmas and said that their role in building Pakistan could not be ignored.
He lamented that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had been sentenced to prison without any single shred of evidence proven against him.
“He was found guilty in one reference and acquitted in another, said Ahsan Iqbal.
Former Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair said that if Imran Khan wanted to build a Naya Pakistan on the model of the state of Medina, then maybe it was time for him to hold PTI leaders accountable.
“Who decided Aleema Khan’s case has reached its conclusion after she paid a mere fine? The mere fact that she paid the fine is indication that she was involved in wrongdoing,” he said.
He said that whether it was Aleem Khan or Aleema Khan, Jahangir Tareen or others, it was important for the government to disclose how PTI leaders were able to amass wealth abroad.
