According to a report in a leading English daily, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman will pay a visit to Pakistan on February 16, 2019.

The report was published in The Express Tribune and stated that the crown prince will be coming to Pakistan to take part in an international investment conference.

The investment conference will be a two-day event scheduled to take place in a five-star hotel in Islamabad.

According to the crown prince’s itinerary, he will head to Malaysia, India and Beijing after his visit to Islamabad.

Saudi Adviser for Energy and Mineral Resources Ahmad Al-Ghamdi had said earlier during the month that representatives of a Saudi company, Aqua Power, would be visiting Pakistan to introduce renewable energy technologies, such as solar and wind, to Pakistan.

During the crown prince’s upcoming tour, Pakistan is likely to sign a multi-billion-dollar oil refinery investment deal. The refinery will be set up in the port city of Gwadar.

Saudi Arabia was the first country that Prime Minister Imran Khan toured after being elected Pakistan’s 22nd prime minister.

He was able to secure a $12 billion aid package from the kingdom which included oil imports of $3 billion per year on deferred payments.

The prime minister later went to Saudi Arabia a couple of months ago to participate in an international business conference at a time when several countries in the world had boycotted it due to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
