Indian film director arrested for killing wife, dismembering her body
An Indian film director and producer has been arrested for killing his wife and dismembering her body parts in a gruesome crime.
The woman was identified nearly two weeks after her severed limbs with tattoo designs were found in a dumpyard located in southern part of Chennai, India Today reported.
Following investigations, the police arrested 51-year-old Balakrishnan who confessed to killing his wife, Sandhya (35), suspecting her of fidelity.
“Various cases of missing women were examined, among them identification marks of Sandhya who went missing in Chennai matched with the tattoos found on the severed legs,” Chennai Police Commissioner AK Vishwanathan told reporters when asked how the case was solved.
Balakrishnan had killed his wife on January 19 and dismembered the body the next day and dumped the parts packed in plastic bags in various garbage bins in the city, police said.
