Kangana takes on Alia Bhatt, calls her ‘KJo’s puppet’
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has hit hard at Alia Bhatt in her latest interview and called her ‘KJo’s puppet’ over Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
Kangana Ranaut has been taking on big names in the Indian film industry over a range of issues such as feminism and nepotism.
The recent Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi controversy has enguled a lot of Bollywood celebrities.
Recently, Kangana Ranaut said in an interview with Pinkvilla that she spoke to Alia Bhatt about it and why Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfrend had not come out in her support.
“I reached out to Alia (Bhatt) and asked her what makes her think Manikarnika is my personal controversy, it’s a film whole nation is talking about and wondering why Bollywood is keeping quiet on such a relevant work…I asked her if I can be courteous and gracious to acknowledge her requests for encouraging relevant work that she does, why is she so scared to see my film,” she said.
Kangana says she told Alia Bhatt during their converstion to ‘grow some spine’ and support an important movie on feminism and nationalism.
“If she doesn’t have a voice of her own and her existence is all about being KJo’s (Karan Johar) puppet then I don’t consider her successful…I told her if she is only focusing on earning bucks and not raise a voice, then her success has no value,” she said.
Alia had offered to apologise to Kangana if her remarks had hurt the Manikarnika actress.
“I hope she doesn’t dislike me and I don’t think she dislikes me. I don’t think I have done anything intentionally to upset her. If I have, I will apologise to her on a personal level,” she said.
