Noted Bollywood actor Mahesh Anand found dead
Noted Indian actor Mahesh Anand was found dead at his Andheri residence, according to the police. He was 57.
The decomposed body of the Bollywood actor, best known for playing the villain in several Bollywood films in the late 1980s and 1990s, was sent to hospital for autopsy.
Anand is suspected to have died at least two days ago, India Today reported.
His body was sent to the Cooper Hospitalto ascertain the time and cause of death.
Anand has appeared alongside top stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Govinda in films like Shahenshah (1988), Thanedaar (1990), Vishwatma (1992), Gumrah (1993), Khuddar (1994), Coolie No 1 (1995) and Vijeta (1996).
According to reports, Anand had been facing major financial issues for the last several years and even had a drinking problem. His last film Pahlaj Nihalani’s production Rangeela Raja featuring Govinda in the lead role, which released on January 18, was his first appearance on the big screen in 18 years.
In a Facebook post, Anand wrote, “I’m happy after 18 years i had onne movie released today,,,,rangeela raja,,,,,,,, i am just therefor 6 minutes in the end,,, hope you all will welcome me back. (sic)”
