Intimate kissing scene between Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh trimmed
An intimate scene between Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh has been trimmed by the Indian film censor board just two days before the release of Gully Boy.
Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy is set to hit the screens on February 14.
The film which received U/A certificate on February 8 has come under the scanner of CBFC.
The Censor Board has snipped 13 seconds of Ranveer and Alia’s intimate scene and has replaced it with a wider shot.
If this wasn’t enough, cuss words like g****, h********i and f*****g have been replaced with milder words.
Mention of a popular whiskey brand, despite being one of the partners, has been removed from the initial credits, India Today reported.
Gully Boy was recently screened at Berlin International Film Festival, and the film got rave reviews and the loudest cheer at the festival.
In fact, Cameron Bailey, the artistic director at the Toronto International Film Festival, lauded the film.
He tweeted saying that he has never seen such a response to a movie in the last 20 years at Berlin Flim Festival.
Gully Boy is about Murad (Ranveer), a rapper from the slums of Mumbai, who wants to rise above his socio-economic status to become a star. Despite being discouraged over and over again, he manages to take the underground rap scene by storm. The film is inspired by the life of underground rappers Divine and Naezy.
