Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is facing a backlash from his fans in Pakistan following his announcement to cancel the release of his upcoming film in Pakistan in the wake of a suicide attack on Indian troops in Pulwama.

The Indian actor took to Twitter on Sunday night to state that his film ‘Total Dhamaal’ would not be released in Pakistan.

“In light of the current situation the team of Total Dhamaal has decided to not release the film in Pakistan,” he tweeted.

Haider Abbasi, son of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, gave a befitting response to the Indian actor over his knee-jerk reaction.

“This is awful news for the 5 people in Pakistan who were going to watch Total Dhamaal,” Mr Abbasi tweeted.

Asfandyar Bhittani, a verified Twitter user, taunted the announcement, saying that Pakistanis were devastated.

“We are “devastated”. Have some mercy. 😂,” Bhittani tweeted.

Na karo ham download kar lienge,” Furqan Shaykh, another Twitter user, wrote jokingly.

“Thanks you so much from Pakistan. We are not even interested to see it,” Kiran Khan tweeted.
