Ranveer Singh supports Bollywood ban on Pakistani artists?
Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh seems to have endorsed a ban imposed by Indian film industry on Pakistani artists and actors.
The ban was announced after the Feb 14 Pulwama attack killing 40 Indian troops in held Kashmir.
“I am very cognisant that there is this school of thought that one should not mix art and sport with it, they are two different realms,” Ranveer Singh said while speaking at the India Today Conclave 2019.
“But at the same time, us as artists and sportsmen, we are not sacrificing the same way that some of our compatriots are. Art and sports are different realms. The boundaries should be different. But we are not sacrificing the way some of our compatriots are. If there’s even one mother of a soldier who believes that we shouldn’t engage, we should follow that.”
The Bollywood start also called the release of captured Indian pilot Abhinandan a good day.
“It’s been a funk-ey time. Today is a good day, but let’s not forget what has happened recently. As far as Abhinandan goes, he is a true hero. The way he conducted himself in the face of such a situation – he is a true hero.”
