Amitabh Bachchan reveals fee for his first movie
Bollywood’s biggest star Amitabh Bachchan told Shah Rukh Khan that he had signed his first film for Rs5000.
The two made an exception for the promotion of their upcoming film Badla. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a lawyer in the film, while Shah Rukh is the producer of the revenge drama.
Badla is the official Hindi remake of the Spanish film, The Invisible Guest. The movie is being co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
The film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. It is slated to release on March 8, 2019. It will see Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan sharing screen space after 2016’s Pink.
Shah Rukh recently released a video of his conversation with Big, wherein he asked the megastar about his love for acting and how he got into the film industry.
The 76-year-old actor replies, “Yes, it happened exactly like that. On February 15, 1969, I signed my first film for Rs 5000. Now it has been 50 years in February 2019.”
Big B made his Bollywood debut with Saat Hindustani in 1969. Shah Rukh adds, “Paise toh abhi bhi utne hi mil rahe hai. It’s only for the sake of art.”
Clad in a black swetshirt and pants, Big B says, ” For art, there are a lot of compromises that one has to make.”
Big B also reveals that he got rejected twice by All India Radio (AIR) when he applied for English and Hindi news reader. “They said your voice is not suitable for news,” adds Big B.
