Maryam advised to avoid politics and pray for Nawaz’s health
LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Health Yasmeen Rashid on Wednesday advised Maryam Nawaz to pray for the health of her father and former premier Nawaz Sharif instead of tweeting about it.
“The PML-N and Sharif family should not do politics and focus on the former prime minister’s health,” the provincial minister told the media.
“Nawaz doesn’t like the atmosphere of the prison and it is clear that he is under stress in jail.
Stating this, she encouraged Nawaz to speak out if he wants to go abroad.
“It is the authority of the court, not the government, to send Nawaz out of country,” she said, adding that the former premier had had his angina tests conducted in the past as well.
She said PML-N can plead in the court over the matter.
Nawaz Sharif has been imprisoned at Kot Lakhpat jail since December 2018 owing to his conviction in a corruption reference.
