I refuse to accept increased salary from Punjab govt: Awn Chaudry
I refuse to accept the increased salary from Punjab Government, said Awn Chaudry who is advisor to the chief minister of Punjab.
A few hours after the Punjab Assembly approved the bill unanimously that approved increments and increased salaries for lawmakers in the assembly, Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke against it.
“I am extremely disappointed by decision of Punjab Assembly to raise pays & privileges of MPAs, Ministers & especially the CM. Once prosperity returns to Pakistan such a move could be justified, but now, when we do not have resources to provide basic amenities to all our people, this is untenable, he tweeted.
Awn Chaudry also wrote that he would not accept the increased salary as it was against the directions of his leader.
“I refuse to accept increased salary from Punjab Government. I stand by PM Imran Khan’s stance regarding increment in salaries. My sole salary goes to Shaukat Khanum already because I believe that our priority should be national interest and not increment in salaries. Increment not acceptable,” he tweeted.
