Nawaz’s kidney function has ‘deteriorated’, says Maryam
LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s kidney function has deteriorated, according to his daughter Maryam Nawaz.
Maryam Nawaz tweeted after meeting her father in Kot Lakhpat Jail that Nawaz Sharif’s doctor’s concerns were ‘not unfounded’.

She tweeted pictures of Nawaz Sharif’s medical report also which showed a rise in the level of creatinine.
“The pain in the flanks persists,” she said.
Yesterday, Maryam Nawaz had disclosed that jail authorities were not allowing her to meet Nawaz Sharif neither was the former prime minister’s personal physician allowed to meet him.
“His (Nawaz) personal physician was made to wait for several hours outside Kot Lakhpat Prison and was eventually denied access today. His urea and creatinine levels must be checked immediately,” she tweeted a letter from a PML-N MPA to the Additional Home Secretary (AHS) Punjab.
The letter also claimed that the former prime minister was suffering from pain in his renal flanks and that his kidney disease was at stage 3.
