Shah Rukh Khan wanted to use Ali Zafar’s ‘Rockstar’ for his film
Did you know that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan wanted to use Pakistani singer Ali Zafar‘s song ‘Rockstar’ for his film Zero?
Ali Zafar is one of the most sought-after singers in not only the Pakistani film industry but also in Bollywood. It recently came to light that the Teefa in Trouble actor was approached by Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood, as the latter wanted to use the former’s Rockstar song.
Ali Zafar revealed how he met Shah Rukh Khan after appearing for a cameo role in his movie Dear Zindagi. It was then that Khan asked Ali Zafar if he could use his song Rockstar.
“He mentioned that he really liked my song Rockstar for his movie Zero. He told me that ‘I am going to be playing a dwarf in my next film’ and then asked whether I would ‘let’ him use my song… and I had said, ‘by all means’.”
However, the collaboration never happened due to the deteriorating political situation between India and Pakistan.
“But unfortunately, due to the unstable political climate, it never worked out,” he said.
Pakistani artists have been banned from working in Bollywood by Indian producers.
