Another Hindu girl allegedly forced to convert to Islam
BADIN: Barely has the issue of the forcible conversion of Hindu girls to Muslim died down when another allegedly emerged, this time from Badin district.
According to the report filed by the girl’s father, the incident occurred on the night of March 16 and 17 when a Hindu girl was allegedly kidnapped by three men.
According to the complaint filed by Gov Meghwar with Pangrio Police Station, Ghulam Haider Thaheem, along with three accomplices, one of whom he recognised as Ghulam Nabi Shah, burst into his home in the middle of the night and kidnapped his daughter.
In his complaint, Meghwar asked police to rescue his daughter as he feared she would either be killed or forcibly converted.
However, villagers claimed that the girl eloped with the boy of her own free will and converted to Islam at a madressah in Samaro Tehsil.
According to an affidavit from the girl, she converted to Islam of her own free will and said that she was 19 years of age.
She has also filed a petition in the Sanghar District Court for protection.
