Model Eman Suleman feels no joy sharing LSA nomination with alleged harasser
Aspiring model Eman Suleman, recognized for her stance on societal issues, has shared her discontent over sharing a Lux Style Award nomination with an “alleged harrasser”.
Citing her appreciation on being nominated by the platform, the model on Sunday said she cannot stand sharing at a platform with alleged harasser.
“I am tired of talking about it to be honest [but] I do not wish to be part of an accolade that is shared with an alleged harasser. I feel no joy. Maybe give it [the nomination] to someone who feels happy about it. I don’t. I am basically done,” the model said in a video message on Instagram.
In a caption, she added: “Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but this, just, isn’t for me. I’m sorry, even though I shouldn’t have to be. Maybe I’m not. I don’t know. Also, I didn’t even send in my portfolio.
I have a very tough time pronouncing the word eye”, the model wrote.
In an interview with Images, Eman contended that she would rather avoid the whole narrative.
“A nominee has the right to withdraw and not attend. The Awards office sets up independent juries and they select nominees based on the work done during the awards calendar year. The listings won’t change but Eman has the right to not attend.”
Eman was nominated for the Lux Style Awards 2019 in the category of Best Emerging Talent in Fashion.
