FM Qureshi laments world’s silence on Occupied Kashmir
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has expressed dismay over the negligence of the world community as Kashmir continues to bleed.
The foreign minister raised his grave concerns during a ceremony at Institute of Policy Study on “Pakistan-India Relations and acceleration of freedom movement in Occupied Kashmir”.
On the occasion, he paid tribute to Kashmiris who are constantly striving for freedom ahead of Indian violence and atrocities in their struggle.
FM Qureshi said that Indian aggression after the February 14 Pulwama suicide attack in occupied Kashmir was unjustified.
He flagged the need for national consensus on the issue for security and apprised about the letters he wrote to parliamentary leaders of different political parties and personally contacted the leaders of Pakistan Peoples’ Party and Pakistan Muslim League.
Citing their response of the opposition parties on the issues, he remarked that he sensed hesitation from the ends on acting promptly on issues of national importance.
However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has taken the opposition into confidence regarding matters of national security, he apprised the gathering.
