WhatsApp has a new update that lets you decide who can add you to chats
WhatsApp has a new feature that allows the user to decide whether or not someone can add him/her to chats or not.
One of the most annoying things that a person comes across on WhatsApp is when a user is added to multiple groups without his/her consent.
Well, no need to worry about that. WhatsApp has the solution to your problems.
As per reports, the user will be given control to decide who can add him/her to group chats. You can stop people adding you to groups if they’re not in your contact list.
The user can also prevent certain people from adding them to groups or leave the option open for all.
Here’s how you do it: Settings then tap Account > Privacy > Groups then choose one of the three options: “Nobody,” “My Contacts” or “Everybody.”
‘Nobody’ means you will approve every group to which you are invited and ‘My Contacts’ means people added by you will be able to invite you only.
This is a series of changes that WhatsApp is introducing to counter the spread of misinformation and fake news.
