Mix reaction by Indian cricket fraternity to the squad for ICC World Cup 2019
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 which will begin from May 30 in England and Wales. The Indian cricket fraternity was shocked to see some of the names like Rayudu and Pant, who were almost confirmed for the World Cup 2019 missing out of the squad.
Meanwhile, the probable prospects for the No. 4 slot in the Indian playing XI, Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant were shockingly left out from the squad. In place of Rishab Pant, Dinesh Karthik will take the charge as the team’s second wicket-keeper.
However, according to BCCI’s announcement, Virat Kohli to lead the 2011 champions, while Indian team will have the players like Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammad Shami, while Vijay Shankar, Kedar Jadhav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya appear in their first ever World Cup.
They took to Twitter and reacted to the announcement:

High voltage expectations from this group. Clearly they've chosen experience and patience in the form of @DineshKarthik. Middle order will be very interesting to see @klrahul11/@DineshKarthik could be at number 4. Rest seems sorted with @JadhavKedar and @msdhoni at number 5/6.

6 mnths back, Mohammad Shami was nowhere near being considered for white ball cricket, but some outstanding performances has ensured he plays his 2nd World Cup. Him & Jadeja have fought their way back in .There will be few disappointed players but best wishes to Team India #CWC19 pic.twitter.com/tqjm2nAwAM

So, India has picked Shankar as #4 option. Without really knowing if it’ll work. DK will play only when Dhoni isn’t available. And no fourth seamer. Interesting choices. Hope it works. ☺️🤗Good luck 👍🙌 #CWC

Ambati Rayudu must be shattered though. His place was deemed certain and he had even quit 4 day cricket to focus on this. But form is such a cruel mistress. The harder he tried the more he seemed to struggle. My heart goes out to him.

Heartbreak for Pant. Karthik gets nod because of better keeping skills, just in case MSD is injured before a crucial match
