I am with Imran Khan till my last breath: Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Shehryar Afridi expressed his confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan a day after being removed as minister of state for interior.
Afridi was appointed Federal Minister for Safron, a ministry which was dissolved by his government last year after assuming power.
Taking to Twitter, Afridi said that he was still Imran Khan’s soldier and would remain so till his last breath.
The former state minister called on his party and supporters to trust Imran Khan at this critical juncture.
“Vision of Naya Pak was drawn by PMIK & I am his soldier. I am with him till my last breath. I have been adding value with my humble capacity to all the tasks assigned by him. At this critical juncture we need to trust our leader & stand by him,” Afridi tweeted.
On Thursday, PM Khan made sweeping changes in a major cabinet reshuffle only after seven months in power.
The PM removed his close aide Asad Umar as Finance Minister and replaced him with former PPP’s minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.
Asad Umar was offered a new portfolio, a position he declined.
Info minister Fawad Chaudhry was handed the Science and Technology Minister while Firdous Ashiq Awan took his place.
