ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s speech in the parliament on Thursday was marred by noise after he called Asad Umar a ‘parha likha jahil’.

The PPP chairman was addressing the parliament during a National Assembly session. The Bhutto scion was speaking on the resignation of former finance minister Asad Umar.

“We have to get rid of ministers who are affiliated with militants,” said Bilawal Bhutto. “Our selected prime minister is incompetent and inept,” he added.

Bilawal slammed the government and said that the PTI had not done its homework and now it was in trouble.

Speaker Asad Qaiser interrupted Bilawal Bhutto when the PPP chairman referred to Asad Umar as a ‘parha likha jahil’.

Opposition members got up from their seats and said that they would not let Bilawal complete his speech.

“Do what you may, I will complete my entire speech,” said the PPP chairman.

Bilawal taunted the already-infuriated opposition members by saying that the entire government was composed of ministers from the PPP’s era and Musharraf regime.

“If I close one eye, I see people from Musharraf’s cabinet,” he said. “When I close the other eye, I see people from Musharraf’s cabinet in the government,” he added.

Bilawal said that he was not the first person to be branded anti-state.

“Before me, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto were also branded anti-state,” he said. “Even Fatima Jinnah was branded a traitor,” he added.

Bilawal said that members of the opposition were being targeted by NAB.

“If we did not cower under pressure from previous dictators such as Ayub, Musharraf and Zia, how will we bow down before this puppet?” he said, referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
