Imran Khan, Chairman FBR discuss economic situation
ISLAMABAD: Subsequent to the sacking of boss of country’s top revenue institution, anew chairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi yesterday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss key economic issues.
According to details, Zaidi discussed with PM the existing economic conditions and the immediate rational steps that are needed to be taken for maximum economic stability.
During the meeting, PM Khan revealed to Shabbar Zaidi his exact vision related to bringing effective reforms in FBR.
Zaidi attains good repute in the financial market and institutions. He is a prominent chartered accountant and a seasoned expert in the matters related to tax affairs.
In past, FBR chairman had also served as provincial finance minister in the Sindh caretaker cabinet in 2013.
He has also served as president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and as chairman of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) in the past.
Zaidi is a senior partner at AF Ferguson and Co, a leading accountancy and advisory company in Pakistan and a Price Waterhouse Coopers member firm and authors of several books including Panama Leaks – A Blessing in Disguise – Offshore Assets of Pakistani Citizens etc.
During the meeting, Adviser to PM on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh was also present.
