Eight housing schemes in Islamabad declared illegal
ISLAMABAD: Eight housing societies have been declared illegal by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday.
According to details, the housing societies declared illegal by the authority are Zakria Town, Margalla Hills Valley, Margalla Town, MR Town, Paradise Valley, Ahmad Town, Al-Hadeed town and Margalla Valley.
The CDA said that these societies were located in sectors D-14, D-15, D-16 (partial), E-14 and E-15. The societies have been declared illegal as the constructions on them have been found in violation of Master Plan of Islamabad, 1960 provisions ICT (Zoning) Regulations, 1992 and Islamabad Building Regulation, 2005.
Urban Planning Director Ijaz Ahmad Sheikh said that some of the housing societies had not even sought the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the CDA before allowing construction. He said that builders were violating laws and exploiting people.
He said that CDA has asked authorities to not provide gas or telephone connections to these societies. He said that these illegal developments were causing the people ‘financial loss and mental anguish’.
