Former Olympian Samiullah wants Ramazan hockey tournaments like cricket
KARACHI: Former hockey Olympian Samiullah Khan on Thursday urged Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to organise Ramazan hockey tournament like cricket to find new talent.
While talking to natcour.com, Samiullah said “It is time for PHF to organise hockey tournaments in Ramazan.
Answer to a query, the former Olympian said that these Ramazan tournaments are always exciting and gives players a good platform to express themselves.
“Players get competitive environment and tournaments are broadcasted on TV screens which is a good sign,” Sami added.
Samiullah added that the Pakistan hockey needs sincere and non-controversial people who can take the national game forward.
He said “These politics are hurting hockey. We are now heading towards Olympic qualification and we need non-controversial people in PHF.
While talking regarding Pakistan squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Samiullah said that Pakistan cricket team has all attributes to win World Cup.
“England has always been great for Pakistan. Pakistan is among favourite teams for the World Cup,” he added.
He also wished good luck to the Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming mega event.
