Bilawal calls Maryam Nawaz, other opposition leaders to Iftar dinner
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has invited opposition leaders, including Maryam Nawaz, to an Iftar dinner on Sunday.
According to sources, Bilawal telephoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam on Friday and invited her other fellow party leaders to Sunday’s Iftar dinner.
Maryam Nawaz has accepted the invitation by the PPP chairman, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb confirmed.
Aurangzeb said the PML-N delegation would include Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz and other senior party leaders.
Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has also accepted invitations. Invitations have also been extended to Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfand Yar Wali Khan.
Among other leaders are also Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Akhtar Mengal, Aftab Sherpao and Shah Awais Noorani who have been sent invitations.
Sources said the dinner has been aimed at bringing leaders of opposition parties on a single page and to hold discussions on the economic situation of the country.
A public protest campaign against the government is also close to attention.
