FM Qureshi to leave for Saudi Arabia on May 27: FO
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will travel to Saudi Arabia for an official visit on May 27.
This was revealed by Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal during his weekly press briefing.
The Dr Faisal refused to talk about the meeting between Foreign Minister Qureshi and his Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
“The foreign minister will issue a statement soon,” he said.
Dr Faisal said that Pakistan would not change its stance on Kashmir till a plebiscite was not held in the disputed territory in line with the United Nations Security Council resolution.
“A statement on the Indian elections will also be made after the official results are announced,” he said.
Dr Faisal said that Pakistan wanted issues between the United States and Iran to be resolved in an amicable manner.
The foreign office spokesperson said that Bangladesh was not issuing visas to Pakistanis.
“Pakistan wants friendly ties with all countries,” he said. “Pakistan is in contact with Bangladeshi authorities. We want friendly ties with all the countries.”
The Iranian foreign minister, who will arrive in Islamabad today, is expected to hold talks on bilateral, regional and international matters with Foriegn Minister Qureshi today.
