Group led by Mohsin Dawar, Ali Wazir attacked army checkpost: ISPR
BOYYA: Five Pakistan Army soldiers were injured in an attack on a checkpost on Sunday by a group led by PTM MNAs Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, said the ISPR.
According to the ISPR, the attack took place at the Kharqamar checkpost situated in the North Waziristan tribal district in Boyya.
Five Pakistan Army soldiers were injured while three from the armed group who allegedly attacked the post were killed and 10 others injured.
The armed group, according to the ISPR, wanted to ‘exert pressure’ for the release of suspected terrorists’ facilitators who were arrested a day before.
“Troops at the check post exercised maximum restraint in the face of provocation and direct firing on the post,” read a statement from the ISPR.
PTM MNA Ali Wazir Khan has been taken into custody along with eight other officials. The injured army officers have been shifted to the Army Hospital for treatment along with all others who were injured.
“Mohsin Javed is at large after inciting the crowd,” read the ISPR statement.
