Junoon’s Choolay Aasmaan is out with a festive World Cup spirit!
The month of May has given us plenty of festivities to look forward to. As we draw closer to the 2019 World Cup, Junoon kicked off patriotic sentiments with its new anthem.
With the new track Choolay Aasmaan, Junoon came back as invincible as ever — recovering our spirits to expect another showdown since Pakistan last aced the championship in 1992 under Imran Khan’s captaincy.
As we all wait to watch the Pakistani team take on West Indies on May 31, Junoon’s anthem lives up to the hype and have us all sway to its rock vibe.

After Junoon announced a reunion following a 15-year hiatus, fans were anxious if the rock band’s 2018 tour would be a disappointment but returning to the stage left everyone in nostalgia.
Just last week, the trio of Ali Azmat, Salman Ahmad and Brian O’Connell announced that they are all set to release a brand-new song and it left us with the same concerns if it would be any closer to its 1992 world cup anthem Jazba Junoon, but Junoon rediscovered the synergy in their music and returned with sufficient force.
Hitting the notes of ‘Choolay Aasmaan’, the rock band has dedicated the song to the unsung heroes of Pakistan – the minorities and the marginalised communities of the country.
The message in the music video represents the religious minorities, the differently-abled and the marginalised transgender community with an optimistic gist by giving them a sense of inclusivity in the country.
