Priyanka Chopra breaks silence on racist article
MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has finally shed some light on a racist article about her marriage with American singer Nick Jonas for the first time.
In an exclusive interview with Sunday Times, the 36-year-old actress opened up about racism and social media trolls. The actress revealed how her family reacted to a racist article which is now deleted.
“I didn’t comment on it at the time. But I went up to the hotel room to find Nick, Joe, Sophie Turner and my mum furiously responding to the article on their phones. They were like, ‘These b*******! How dare they?’ I thought, ‘I’m having a great moment, nothing is going to burst my bubble’.”
The Indian actress also commented on trolls criticizing her for posting pictures with Nick on social media.
“If I wasn’t a famous person and I’d just got married, don’t you think my Instagram would have photos of me and my husband?”
She went on and said that because she is famous, doesn’t she have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed? She also said that she gave up her right to privacy when she became a public figure but she keeps a lot of stuff personal.
She also added how Nick always supports him whenever she gets trolled.
