The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province in Pakistan, Haji Ghulam Ali, has suggested May 28 as the election date in the province to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the KP governor said the law and order situation was "a real problem", and mentioned how the police came under attack in KP's Lakki Marwat district. The fate of KP's election date has been hanging in the balance since the Punjab election date (April 30) was announced. The Supreme Court had earlier ruled that the elections to the Punjab and KP assemblies should be held within the stipulated period of 90 days.
